Germs

The idea of going to a house party right now gives me the heeby-jeebies. Imagine it- humans… all around you – flagrant energies whizzing from every corner. 20 pairs of unwashed hands pulling from a single bowl of crunchy chips. Over in the corner, three friends shamelessly double dipping and digging their used cutlery into pulled pork.

And then there’s that one dude. The popular guy cruising from group to group, a super-connector, slowly making his way towards you, his hands reaching out…

Yikes! Give me the great indoors! Predictable climates. Lots of soap. Asynchronous communication. And quality time with me.

The Secret Lives of Ace and Blue

In 100 on March 22, 2020 at 10:44 pm

550 square feet — shared between two thriving introverts, retreating from the social outdoors for awhile. We are in San Francisco, in a small world of each other, our screens, and our routine solitary runs. Laying in bed throughout different pockets of day and looking out my window, I see clear, cerulean sky. Excellent, transcendent morning clouds. From my roof, I see a scarlet sun break the horizon into waves of saffron, and the elegant Golden Gate commanding the pageant. I run past kelly green patches, and deep turquoise waves, and then back home again. Where we resume our secret lives.

Social Distance

In 100, by Michael on March 22, 2020 at 10:35 pm

Minimal physical interaction with the world
Six feet distance at all times
Lots of phone calls and texts

Grocery shopping once a week
Eating simple
Two good meals a day

Working from home
Nice music, smells, and vibe
Productive blocks of solitude interspersed with video calls
And conversations with Amy

Running
Gives the day its heartbeat
Sweet fresh air &
Sunshine &
Rhythm

Taking in a whole lotta internet
The roni
The man with the giant dong
The world might end but the memes will be spicy
Day trading $SQQQ

Each moment comes one at a time, just like always.
