The Inventors by Brandon Evans

In by New Author on November 7, 2010 at 5:27 pm

The light bulb invented the Edison;
the music invented the sea.
We all are inventions of something else,
but unpatented I am free.

Inventors invented the hospital,
they also invented disease.
I know such pleasant things and scary thoughts
keep each of us from being free.

Behold the lines I see on paper blue:
there’s blueprints aplenty for me.
Since when were we only just diagrams?
Can people when charted be free?

There’s Leibniz and Newton and calculus,
fights and conflict, a bond indeed,
but soon the inventors will all be gone,
and that is the day we’ll be free.
