The fronters

In by Wyatt on October 18, 2010 at 1:22 am

Silently they closed in, beer and funnelcakes in hand, water bottles in streamlined backpacks, and a steady gaze locked straight ahead. A little girl squealed and lept to the side. A burly man braced himself but was stepped through with an agile step-hip-turn. A group of teens saw them coming and linked elbows in a wall, to no avail. Nothing would stop them. They were fronters, and they simply had to be at the front. It wasn’t about the better view, stronger sound, extra face-time — it was the shear principle. Silently, ardently, they forged on. It’s so awful it hurts.
