To Walk Out The Front Door Every Day

In by Chris on September 4, 2010 at 12:04 am

Heinrich is unemployed, yet every day he finds work. He wakes up each morning and walks out the door, ready to fit into whatever world greets him, whether it’s the mountains full of unchopped firewood or the city with its construction projects.

This morning, the door opened into a vacuity. Not even endless white, it was nothing. He was at a loss. What could he do? There were no corners to peek around, no stones to be overturned. He tried to touch it, and his hand disappeared.

With no other options, he went back to bed, to try again tomorrow.
