If you are flying into a town, use the airport as a means to understand the culture and lifestyle of the place. If it is only a few steps to the ground, a ten second walk through the ‘airport’, and if ‘security’ is the lady at the front desk asking if you had a nice flight, you know, it must be rural Alaska. Oh and don’t forget to grab your baggage, the forklift driver just put the pallet full of luggage down where the hole is in the chain link fence out front. Not there? Tomorrow’s flight comes at 1:30.
