The Most Regular Day

In by Michael on August 18, 2010 at 12:38 am

My basset hound Wilbur relaxed in the sun, drooped on the porch in a pile of flesh you’d swear had no bones.

My attention was grabbed by something in the distance moving way too fast for this hot day in the countryside. All I could see was a bushy tail zipping across the top of the grass. Some animal was chasing down lunch.

Lunch, I mean, the mouse, scrambled up onto my porch and across. Wilbur sat motionless as the mouse weaved around him. The hungry hunter took a shortcut.

Yes, the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
