The Gift by Guest Author Greg Rurik

Her birthday loomed ahead; only a few days more. Birthdays seem to come so frequently now. How does time seem to fly so quickly? He so wanted to give her a special gift: something meaningful; something to express gratitude; something to share together; something to look forward to; something to say “I love you”; or something just for laughs. The gift proved elusive (or reclusive). What gift would convey all that? Perhaps it is not so much the gift that matters, but how much of the giver is wrapped up in the gift. Is it really the thought that counts?
