Same Process, Different Results; or, What It’s Like To Write 100 Words Every Day

Each morning the same process. As soon as my teeth are brushed, I’m into my car and onto the highway. Yet every day the same process yields different results. A bumper sticker sets off a train of thoughts that passes through destinations I’ve never yet known. A plumbing truck evokes a combination of memories that don’t seem to belong together, yet leave a lasting impression on my emotions. The order of exits is about the only thing constant. And, well, I don’t even want to talk about the processes and results that come once I’ve actually arrived at my workplace.
