Tired Youth

In by Chris on July 9, 2010 at 9:01 pm

We are tired.
The youth of this nation are tired.
We could say,
We are the bedbugs of society,
Perfectly adapted to come out at night,
Suck your blood,
And leave you with itches and insomnia.
We could say we are the remnants of Woodstock,
Of Kurt Cobain’s bloody death.
But no, we are tired.
Sure, we’ll go to the parks,
Drink the beer
And have fun with each other.
But where has our energy gone?
Instead we dream of being Indians,
Of building a house in Siberia,
Of being lonely in nature.
We await the meteor,
The nuclear winter.
