A Voice For A Hero (II)

He did not know how his voice might sound. How could he? Though he had searched endlessly, still it eluded him.

When it finally came, it was thrust upon him like the crown of a child king. One down-and-out day he unwittingly foiled a robbery attempt and later, in a television interview, began to cry without reason for the man who was sent to jail.

The people of his small town were intrigued. They wanted to hear more from this hero in whom the public eye produced such a strange effect. Why did he not assume his role as savior?
